Sunshine and blue skies for Southern Lakes Yukon Gran Fondo
Road cyclists in the Yukon gathered on June 19th for the 13th Southern Lakes Yukon Gran Fondo officially organized by U Kon Echelon Bike Club.
The 173-kilometre race route began and ended in Marsh Lake at McClintock Bay Adventures, with riders heading to Jakes Corner along the Alaska Highway, heading south to Tagish and then west to Carcross before turning north on the Klondike Highway and looping back to Marsh Lake.
Unlike in years past, this year’s race did not include individually-timed legs, meaning only overall times for each team were marked by volunteers.
